Graettinger, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — National Weather Service investigators are in the KICD Broadcast area today assessing storm damage. There were five tornado warnings issued between 5:30 and 8 for portions of Clay, Palo Alto, and Emmet Counties.

KICD’s Anthony Gonzalez is surveying damage in the Graettinger area. Palo Alto County Emergency Management Director Kayla Hagen says three acreages experienced significant damage including one to the main residence. Other outbuildings, vehicles, trees, and utility poles received varying degrees of damage.

There is a visible debris path approximately four miles in length extending into Emmet County. We hope to bring you more information from the scene during our 5 o’clock news tonight.
