Okoboji, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Students of the Youth in Philanthropy, or Y I P, at the Okoboji Foundation spread holiday joy to children in their community recently.
Project Christmas is funded the last several years by an anonymous donor to the Okoboji Foundation, intended to provide funds for gifts for children in need. The Foundation, along with local schools and Kaden’s Kloset are able to tailor gifts specific to the child in need.
This year 35 children were identified, and YIP participant Abby Scott says it’s rewarding experience… to give back to the kids that live within” her community. YIP meets each month in a different non-profit location, and this month they met at Kaden’s Closet, delivering stockings filled with gifts, participated in a service project, and helped organize and stock the shelves at Kaden’s Closet.
