Marathon, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Iowa State Patrol reports a Fort Dodge man died in a one-vehicle accident Monday morning in Buena Vista County.

38 year old Nicholas Skog was Southbound on 200th Avenue two miles North and one mile West of Marathon around 5:45am when he lost control, rolled, and was ejected from the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His passenger – 37 year old Rusty Rogers from Clear Lake – was wearing a safety belt and remained inside the vehicle He suffered undisclosed injuries and was transported to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center by ambulance.

The Buena Vista county Sheriff’s Department and Marathon Fire Department assisted at the scene.
