Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Sunday afternoon the Spencer Fire Department responded to an oven fire in Spencer.

Fire Chief Jesse Coulson issued a release saying his department received the call around 4pm Sunday for an oven fire with flames showing at 118 East 21st Street. Once on scene, smoke was discovered in the common area and hallway of the apartment involved. Ventilation was performed by firefighters and the scene was cleared.

Spencer Fire Department was on scene for approximately 25 minutes.
