Storm Lake, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Storm Lake police have charged a 35-year-old Storm Lake man with 3rd offense Operating a motor vehicle under the Influence after he allegedly crashed his car and fled the scene.

They were called to a single vehicle rollover in the 100 block of Flindt Drive around 5pm Saturday. Eyewitnesses say the 2021 GMC Sierra was driving at a high rate of speed, and that after the accident the drive discarded alcohol and ran away.

Tomas Olivo was found walking in the 900 block of East 1st Street, allegedly refused officer’s instructions, but was eventually taken into custody without further incident.

In addition to the 3rd offense OWI, he was charged with interference with official acts, failure to maintain control, and reckless driving.
