Emmetsburg, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) — The Palo Alto Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday, March 11, where certified results of the recent special election for the Emmetsburg Community School District were the primary focus. Public Measure A, concerning a proposed increase to the school district’s tax levy was not approved by voters.

They also scheduled a public hearing regarding the fiscal year 2025 budget amendment was scheduled for April 8th at 9:00 a.m. in the Courthouse Boardroom. The Supervisors entered a closed session to discuss matters pertaining to Drainage District 180.

Upon reconvening, the Board approved a conditional use permit and master matrix for DCW Farms LLC, located in Section 35 of Highland Township, to facilitate an increase in their operational capacity.

In collaborative action with Kossuth County, the Board authorized an archaeological assessment for PAK #1, to be conducted by Bear Creek Archaeology, Inc.
