People For Pets is getting ready for its ninth annual PetOberfest this Saturday. Shelter Director Jenna Schror says the event at Century Farms Distillery is critical for the shelter, which is facing high demand and a few unexpected repairs.
Schror says every dollar raised goes directly to caring for and housing the animals, including a significant expense that never goes away: the vet bills.
This year’s PetOberfest runs from 5:00 to 8:00 pm this Saturday and features dinner, games, and a popular pet parade where shelter animals show off their Halloween costumes. Even if you can’t make the event, silent auction is open to public, and bidding starting online Thursday night. Schror says you can still get tickets right up to the event.
In addition to money, People For Pets is always grateful for donations of supplies, particularly clumping cat litter, paper towels, and liquid laundry soap. As always cat and dog food is welcome, as well.
