Pocahontas, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Pocahontas Area Community School Board is scheduled to interview four candidates for Superintendent Wednesday. There were ten applicants, six from out-of-state, and four with doctorate degrees.

The finalists are former Atlantic Superintendent Steven Barber; South Tama Principal Robert Boley; Anthony Ryan – currently serving a Superintendent and Director of Special Education at East Marshall; and a local candidate: Cherokee Community School District Superintendent Tom Ryherd, who previously had served as principal at Cherokee High School.

An offer might be extended yet Wednesday evening. Current Superintendent Joe Kramer retires June 30th and the new Superintendent will officially start July 1st.
