MILFORD, IA (Northwestiowanow) — The City of Milford is moving forward with public hearings for two urban renewal projects.

During a regular City Council meeting on Monday, June 22, council members approved resolutions setting dates for the required public hearings.

One of the proposals involves expanding the city’s South Industrial Urban Renewal Area. City Administrator LeAnn Reinsbach says the move is a necessary step in growing Milford’s industrial footprint.

The expansion would push the existing district further west, requiring a formal amendment before development can continue.

The second item focuses on a new housing project planned for the west side of town.

Reinsbach says the city needs to do some extra work to make those incentives possible.

Public hearings on both the industrial expansion and the proposed housing-related urban renewal area are scheduled for the next council meeting on Monday, July 27 at 6:00 p.m., where residents will have an opportunity to provide input before further action is taken.
