Des Moines, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) –– Following the severe weather that impacted Northwest Iowa, Governor Kim Reynolds has issued a disaster proclamation, including Clay County and Palo Alto County.

The declaration activates state resources and two key aid programs for residents to access, including the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program. It provides up to $7,000 for home or car repairs and food replacement.

Disaster Case Advocacy Program, meaning profressional guidance is available for families to build recovery plans and find resources. In Clay County, Long Term Recovery Group already exists from the past 2024 flood disastor.

Residents impacted are encouraged to keep all original receipts for reimbursement and can find an application at homeland security dot iowa dot gov.
