Spencer, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — It’s National Farm Safety Awareness Week, and Darcie Follen with Clay County Public Health says the theme this year is “Safety First. Avoid the Worst” because many risks in Ag are preventable.
Safety awareness includes physical and mental health checks as well.
Follon adds that farming is one of the most dangerous occupations in the country and encourages both farmers and non-farmers to be aware of the importance of farm safety, especially during harvest season and to check in on one another.
