Sanborn, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Sanborn Fire Department prevented a fire from reaching the living portion of a residence Wednesday night.
Fire Chief Randy Lyman says they were dispatched to 301 East 2nd Street shortly before 6pm and were on the scene for about two hours.
A tree located a block away also caught on fire from embers. The Sheldon Fire Department was called as a backup, and Sanborn Utility crews responded to remove power lines. Sanborn Police and the O’Brien County Sheriff’s office also assisted.
The O’Brien County Assessor’s office lists the owners of the property as Mark and Amy Nellis.
