TERRIL, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) – Terril Elementary School held a ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday at 2:00 PM to celebrate the completion of their newly renovated playground.

The event marked a significant milestone for the school and the community, as the old playground had become a safety concern due to its severely worn-down metal structures. The renovation project, which cost nearly $200,000, was funded through a combination of grants, community donations, and contributions from the city. The new playground equipment was installed in just 11 days, with only one part still pending delivery.

Terril Mayor, Julie Thielsen, expressed excitement about the new program, highlighting the importance of providing a safe and enjoyable play space for the children.

Terril Principal, Anita Helmich, also shared her enthusiasm.

Community support and collaboration were key in making this project a reality, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable environment for the children of Terril and neighboring areas.
