Sioux Rapids, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Little Sioux Golf and Country Club played host to the 2025 Chris Smith Invitational on Tuesday.

In the Girls race, Tyra Schupbach of West Bend-Mallard won with a time of 19:57.06.

Marley Madsen of Sioux Central took 2nd with a time of 21:19.51.

3rd place went to Iris Melody of South Central Calhoun with Sioux Central’s Sage Weber and Nora Christian going 4-5 at 22:04.06 and 22:10.5 respectively.

Sheldon’s Kylie Robinson clocked 23:37.49 to finish 8th and lead the Orabs.

Pacing Sibley-Ocheyedan with a time of 23:42.37 was an 8th place finish from Mya Phlen and Bree Anderson of Alta-Aurelia rounded out the top 10 at 23:48.78.

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn was led by Viviana Delacruz who took 21st at 24:59.55.

In the Girls’ team scores, Sioux Central placed 1st with 42 points, Sibley-Ocheyedan was 2nd at 49, and Alta-Aurelia finished 3rd at 73.

For the Boys race, Sioux Central took the top 2 spots with Lucos Wernimont running 17:22.38 and Jack Christian at 17:39.29.

In 3rd was Gabriel Bergman from OABCIG at 17:46.26 and East Sac County’s Landon Sporrer was 4th at 17:54.65.  Sheldon’s Malakai Vermeer was 5th with a time of 17:58.47.

Leading South O’Brien was Landen Davenport, clocking 18:09.32.

Alta-Aurelia’s top runner was Jacob Launderville, running 18:43.71 to finish 12th.

James Carlin was the front of Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn’s pack, running 21:10.53.

East Sac County won the team title with 55 points, putting all 5 scorers in the top 20 while Sioux Central finished 2nd at 62, and Alta-Aurelia was 3rd, scoring 117.  Sheldon was 4th, and South O’Brien took 9th.
