Cylinder, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — An Emmetsburg man has been charged with possession of drugs after a one-vehicle accident, and his passenger was air-lifted from the scene with serious injuries.

Palo Alto County Sheriff John King tells us 19 year old Jordan Fury was westbound in the 52 hundred block of 300th Street North of Cylinder when he went in the ditch around 7 am Saturday, became air born, and rolled. The unidentified passenger was partially ejected from the F-150 pickup and had to be freed by rescue crews. Fury was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and other charges are pending.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s department was assisted by the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Department; Emmetsburg and Cylinder fire departments; and emergency medical responders from Fenton, Palto Alto and Kossuth counties, and Mercy Air-Med.
