Sheldon, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Sheldon Fire Chief Brad Hindt tells Northwestiowanow.com the cause of a Friday evening shed fire was most likely the chimney on a wood stove. There were no injuries as his crew and backups from the Sanborn Fire Department attacked the blaze at 520 North 2nd Avenue.
Hindt says the owner left the building around 6pm, the fire was called in about an hour later, and crews were there until around 10:30pm Friday.
Chief Hindt says additional assistance was provided by Sheldon Police, the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team, The O’Brien County Communication Center, and Mid American Energy.
The O’Brien County Assessor’s website lists the owner as “Leon Kleinwolterink and others.”
