SHELDON, IA (Northwestiowanow) – A motorcycle accident claimed the life of a Sheldon man late Wednesday night.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred just before 11:00 p.m. on Highway 60, south of Sheldon. The victim was identified as Jeremy Korth, 27, of Sheldon. Korth was riding a 2012 Harley-Davidson Road Glide southbound when he left the roadway and entered the west ditch. The motorcycle rolled, ejecting him.

Emergency responders from the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team transported Korth to Sanford Sheldon Hospital. He was later airlifted to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, where he died from his injuries.

The motorcycle sustained an estimated $18,000 in damage.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, the Sheldon Fire Company, and the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team. The incident remains under investigation.
