Spencer, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) –At a recent Spencer City Council meeting, the council approved an invoice for electrical work on five stop light intersections that were damaged during the flooding.

Public Works Director Mark White explains which intersections were damaged.

Spencer City Manager Kevin Robinson says they found out through the reimbursement process that the Federal Highway System is not reimbursed through FEMA but instead reimbursed by itself.

Robinson says after meeting with DOT, dot still believes there’s a way that the federal highway administration would pay for the stop lights.
