Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – It was pink-out night at the Jeffery S. Olsen Memorial Pool in the Spencer Family YMCA as the Spencer Tigers hosted Algona and Sioux City Metro for a Triangular.

Spencer started out with a narrow win in the 200 Yard Individual Medley Relay. A team of Halle Sears, Ella Kasperbauer, Lily Gross and Ava Vogt swam 1:58.3, edging out Sioux City Metro’s 1:58.7.

Kasperbauer was glad to get in front of the home crowd again and is hoping for a big weekend in Council Bluffs for an Invitational.

Halle Sears would pick up an individual win for Spencer in the 100 Yard Butterfly, hitting a time of 1:02.53.

The Tigers would get their 3rd win in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, coming from Spencer’s Lily Gross who swam 1:09.77. Gross said the team swam well and is loading up for the district meet.

Spencer would lose to Sioux City Metro 52-42 and beat Algona 74-19. Sioux City Metro topped Algona 67-26.

Tiger Coach Amie Lawrence thought this was one of Spencer’s better competitions with Sioux City Metro, one of the more difficult teams they face on the regular.

This weekend is a big Invitational for the Spencer Area Swim Team as they go to Council Bluffs for the Lewis Central Meet.
