Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — In a joint-announcement, Spencer Mayor Steve Bomgaars announced he will not seek re-election; and 4th Ward Councilman Donavon Wunschel announced he will file papers to run for Mayor.

Mayor Bomgaars says Wunschel has his “full support” in the fall campaign. Wunschel was elected 4th Ward Councilman in 2018 and re-elected in 2022
