Spencer, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) — The Spencer Fire Department was dispatched to fully engulfed detached garage at 703 East 3rd Street in Spencer.

When the department arrived in the early morning hours Monday, fire was coming through the roof of the structure, with multiple exposures. Fire was spreading to another garage and two single family homes. Backup was called for more firefighters to assist on scene.

The Spencer Fire and Police Departments were on scene for than an hour and a half. No injuries were reported. The cause is undetermined at this time.
