Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Volleyball team took a big step in 2025, finishing 3rd in the Lakes Conference and picking up a win in the Regional Quarterfinals before getting their season brought to an end in the Regional Semifinal against eventual State Runner-Up Sioux Center.

11 Athletes played in 40 or more matches in 2025, and 7 of them return for 2026.  Lucy Simington says the chemistry is very noticeable with the returners.

Addison Olson is alongside Simington in a Senior class that looks to provide strong leadership in 2026.

Simington also talked about Leadership and helping the young athletes improve.

Along with experience, Spencer will put an intimidating front line on the court.

The Regular season opens up on August 25th with the Spencer Early Bird, featuring the Tigers alongside Algona, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, Okoboji, and South O’Brien.  Other key dates on the schedule include the Siouxland Conference opener at Sheldon on September 10th, a road trip to perennial power Western Christian of Hull on September 17th, the Siouxland Conference Tournament on October 13th and 15th, with the regular season wrapping up October 17th with the Algona Invite.
