Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Varsity Basketball teams hosted South Central Calhoun on Tuesday in the Fieldhouse.
The Girls game was a defensive battle with scoring hard to come by.
Spencer outscored South Central Calhoun 14-3 in the 4th quarter to come back and win 37-33.
Gretchen Haak led the Tigers with 12 points coming off of 4 made 3 pointers.
Bre Peterson scored 12 to pace the Titans.
South Central Calhoun drops to 4-4 while Spencer advances to 3-4.
The Spencer Boys dominated for 3 quarters against the Titans.
The Tigers held off the late South Central Calhoun comeback to win 57-51.
Spencer had 3 double digit scorers with 20 coming from Cael Bruning.
Cole Higgins was great in the loss for South Central Calhoun, scoring 22 with 18 coming in the 2nd half.
South Central Calhoun is now 4-3 and Spencer has won 4 straight to go in to Winter Break with a 4-1 record.
Next up for South Central Calhoun is a road trip to Emmetsburg on Friday.
The Spencer girls play in Carroll against Kuemper Catholic on Thursday while the Boys are off until January 2nd when they play their rescheduled contest against Bondurant-Farrar at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
