Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Lakes Conference Golf Tournaments were held on Monday.

The Girls Tournament was played at Emerald Hills Golf Club in Arnold’s Park.

Isla Ward of Spencer was the Individual Conference Champion with an 89, just edging out teammate Morgan Irvine who scored 90.

Estherville Lincoln Central went 3rd and 4th with Joie Christensen and Hannah Paulson.

Maddy Raveling shot a 100 for Storm Lake, taking 5th for the Tornadoes.

Spencer won the team title, breaking 400 with a 399.  Estherville Lincoln Central was 2nd at 408 and Storm Lake finished 3rd with 439.  Spirit Lake was 4th and Cherokee finished 5th.

The Boys Tournament was held at the Spencer Golf and Country Club.

Trenton Hallett of Spencer shot a 71 to be 1 under par on the day to claim the individual conference Championship.  Right behind him was teammate AJ Stanley with a 74.  There was a 3-way tie for 3rd between Cherokee’s Mason Campbell, Spencer Junior Varsity’s Tyler Flikkema, and Estherville Lincoln Central’s Thomas Beaver placed 5th.

Spencer dominated in the team race with a 305, 17 above Par as a group to take the Lakes Conference Crown.

The Story of the Day wasn’t that though somehow.  The Spencer Junior Varsity team would finish 2nd with a 319, clearing 3rd Place Estherville Lincoln Central Varsity by 4 strokes.  Storm Lake was 4th, and Cherokee took 5th with Spirit Lake finishing 6th.
