Spencer, IA (northwestiowanow) — Spencer High School ranked among the top 50 high schools in Iowa in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.

Spencer High School was ranked 44th out of 354 Iowa high schools.

High School Principal Kirsten Doebel says one of the driving factors behind the school’s success has been the implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports.

Despite the recognition, Doebel says the school continues to focus on improvement.

She also credited the broader Spencer community and school staff for helping create a culture that supports student success.

The rankings consider factors including state assessment performance, graduation rates, student growth, and outcomes among various student groups.
