Spencer, IA (northwestiowanow.com) — Men are encouraged to talk with their healthcare provider about prostate cancer screenings.
September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Dr. Mark Milleman was this week’s guest on the Clay County Health Update.
Milleman says concerning results don’t always mean a person has cancer.
If cancer is diagnosed, treatment plans are individualized based on factors including the cancer’s aggressiveness, the patient’s age, overall health, and personal preferences. Patients may receive care through Northwest Iowa Urologists and the Abben Cancer Center.
Milleman says outcomes are often very positive when it is caught early.
