Spencer, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) — Spencer’s Park and Rec Director says facilities are close to being back to their pre-flood condition.

Bob Fullhart says some sludge in the aquatic center pumps prevents the facility from reopening this year, but there was little to no physical damage.

Right now the city is reviewing an engineer’s inspection of the East Leach Park tennis courts. It’s possible the ground under the decking washed out during the flood and would have to be repacked so the court doesn’t collapse.
