Spencer, IA (KICD) — The Spencer Community School district has information for their families who have not been able to return to their homes.

Assistant Superintendent Angie Hansen says you are still considered residents of the district.

Hansen says disaster victims have benefits available under the McKinney Vento act.

Online registration runs through August 11th for the Spencer Community School District. There will be an in-person registration from 7am and 7pm August 8th for the benefit of families who lost their computers in the flood.

The first day of school is August 23rd.
