Storm Lake, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Spirit Lake hosted Lakes Conference teams and MOC-Floyd Valley for an indoor meet at the Lamberti Recreation Center on the Campus of Buena Vista in Storm Lake.

Here are top finishers for Spencer on the day.

Tate VonEhwegen took 2nd in the Boys High Jump, clearing 6 feet. VonEhwegen has a long approach to the bar and was happy to be able to have room for it on Tuesday.

The Spencer Girls Distance Medley Relay team of Peyton Morey, Kiera Brown, Mercedes Krieg, and Lucy Simington ran a 4:45.17 to place 3rd.

Rylei Koppie of Spencer was 3rd in the Boys 1600m Run with a time of 4:48.23.

Sam Hinkeldey would snag a silver for the Tigers in the boys 60m Hurdles, clocking 8.95 seconds. Hinkeldey uses the Indoor Hurdles to find ways to improve.

Mercedes Kreig ran 8.4 seconds to take 6th in the 60m Dash with teammate Sydnee Hopkins right behind in 7th. Kreig is seeing some offseason work begin to pay off.

The Girls 4x200m Relay team of Sydnee Hopkins, Mercedes Krieg, Simington, and Koenig finished 3rd with a time of 1:54.81. Hopkins liked what she saw from some of her younger teamates relays.

Spencer Girls Coach Drew Schiltz talked about a young Sprinter group’s development.

Spencer Boys tok 3rd in the 4x200m Relay as well with a time of 1:40.7 made up of a team featuring Kamden Young, Jaxson Buum, Jace McCormick, and Korbin Stanzel.

Rylei Koppie would run 2:09.43 in the Boys 800m run to place 3rd. Koppie looks forward to taking more time off in that race.

The Girls 4x400m Relay team of Kiera Brown, Mercedes Krieg, Jazmine Christensen, and Lucy Simington took 3rd with a time of 4:44.14.

The Spencer Boys 4x400m Relay team also took 3rd with a time of 3:50.68.

The Tiger Boys went with a younger group for the Spirit Lake Indoor Meet. Coach Wilson Hookfin talked about their effort.
