ARMSTRONG, IA (NorthwestIowaNow) – Iowa State Auditor Rob Sand has released a report on the City of Armstrong following a review of financial records for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024.

The report lists 17 findings, with 16 noted in a previous review. Areas covered include budget management, fund transfers, and the financial condition of the landfill and garbage fund, which showed a deficit of more than $117,000.

Other observations include discrepancies in the city’s annual financial report, missing payroll documentation, and the use of a debit card opened in an employee’s name.

The review was conducted under Chapter 11.6 of the Iowa Code and is meant to help city officials strengthen internal controls and meet state requirements.
