Storm Lake, IA (Northwestiowanow) — A Storm Lake man is facing a felony charge after allegedly throwing a rock through a window at the Storm Lake Police Department Early Wednesday morning.

Officers with the Storm Lake Police Department allege 29-year-old Permanson Peter of Storm Lake approached the front entrance of the police department at 401 East Milwaukee Avenue at approximately 1:40 a.m. Wednesday, August 5.

Police say Peter picked up a rock from nearby landscaping and threw it through a front vestibule window.

Authorities report the window was shattered, resulting in an estimated $750 in damage to the building.

Police say Peter was encountered shortly afterward in the front parking area of the police department and was taken into custody without incident.

Peter was transported to the Buena Vista County Jail, where he was charged with Second-Degree Criminal Mischief, a Class D felony. He was booked into the jail and held on a $5,000 bond.
