Storm Lake, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Storm Lake Mayor Mike Porsch spent the first 10 minutes of Monday’s city council meeting thanking those who helped clean up the community after Friday morning’s storm. He says city staff and Buena Vista County Emergency Management Director Aimee Barritt worked nearly 36 hours without sleep, and many from outside of the community showed up to lend a hand too.

The city of Storm Lake is asking residents to dispose of their own branches but for residents physically unable to do it themselves, city crews will be collecting them at curbside when they get caught up.
