Storm Lake, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) —  A Storm Lake juvenile male has been charged with Felony Burglary following a disturbance and foot pursuit. On Monday, December 15th around 6:30 pm, Storm Lake Police were dispatched to Hibbet Sports located at 111 Sale barn Road, regarding a report of a customer causing a disturbance.

Police allege a 17-year-old male from Storm Lake caused a disturbance by threatening staff, then entered a restricted storage area and stole an employee’s car keys. After allegedly entering the employee’s vehicle and causing $1,000 in damage to a separate car in the lot, the subject fled from arriving officers on foot. He was quickly apprehended and taken into custody without further incident.

The 17-year-old male was charged with the following: Burglary in the Second Degree (Class C Felony), Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree (Aggravated Misdemeanor), Trespass – First Offense (Scheduled Violation) and 3 other misdemeanor charges.

The case has been referred to the appropriate juvenile authorities.
