POCAHONTAS, IA (Northwestiowanow) – A stop for a suspicious vehicle led to drug and driving charges in Pocahontas County Sunday.

Deputies with the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office conducted a suspicious vehicle stop involving a black Dodge Avenger at the Swan Lake entrance September 27.

Following an investigation, the driver, identified as 31-year-old Chad Alan Williamson, was arrested and charged with third or subsequent offense possession of marijuana, an aggravated misdemeanor. Williamson was also charged with driving while license suspended, a simple misdemeanor.

No further details were given as to what prompted the investigation into the suspicious vehicle.
