SUTHERLAND, IA (Northwestiowanow) – Sutherland is gearing up for its 2026 Labor Day Celebration this weekend.

Festivities begin Thursday, September 3, and continues through Monday, September 7.

Jill Jurgensen with the Sutherland Commercial Club says this year’s celebration will be especially significant with the opening of a 50-year-old time capsule.

 

Jurgensen says the time capsule project not only honors local history but also looks toward the future.

 

Several longtime Labor Day traditions will return this year.
