STORM LAKE, IA (Northwestiowanow) – Thousands of dollars’ worth of personal items was stolen from guests at Kings Pointe Waterpark on Tuesday, leading to the arrest of a 14-year-old girl from Nebraska.

According to the Storm Lake Police Department, officers were dispatched to the waterpark at approximately 4:40 p.m. on July 15 following multiple reports of theft. An investigation was launched immediately, and with assistance from Kings Pointe staff, officers quickly identified and located the suspect still on the premises.

Authorities allege the juvenile stole several items from patrons, with the total value estimated at nearly $3,500. She was issued a juvenile referral for Theft in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony under Iowa law.

Following the referral, the girl was transported to the Youth Emergency Shelter Center in Cherokee for placement.

The case remains under investigation.
