Holstein, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Many schools in the KICD 9-County Area attended the Tim Thomas XC Classic in Holstein Saturday.
In the Class A Girls’ Race, MOC-Floyd Valley’s Natalie Anderson won with a time of 18:30.7. Spencer’s Laynee Healey would finish 5th with a time of 19:57.4 with teammates Minnie Matthiesen and Emerie Fullhart taking 9th and 10th respectively with times of 20:25.09 and 20:51.87.
The Class A Girls’ team scores had MOC-Floyd Valley 1st with 45 points, Spencer 2nd at 55, and Humboldt 3rd with 66.
For the Class B Girls’ Race, the winner was Bishop Garrigan of Algona’s Julia Swift with a time of 19:48.44. Sioux Central’s Sage Weber took 5th at 20:37.97 and Pocahontas Area’s Olivia Maske was 7th at 20:56.79.
Logan-Magnolia took the Class B Girls’ Team Title with 84 points, Ridge View was 2nd with 128, and Newell-Fonda took 3rd at 160. Emmetsburg was 4th, Sioux Central 5th, Okoboji 7th, Alta-Aurelia 8thand Pocahontas Area took 11th.
The Class A Boys’ race was won by North of Sioux City’s Kuma Gutema with a time of 15:39.1.
Class A Boys’ Team Title went to North of Sioux City with 51 points, MOC-Floyd Valley was 2nd with 55, and Denison-Schleswig finished 3rd at 112. Spencer would take 7th out of the 9 teams.
In the Class B Boys’ Race, Lucos Wernimont of Sioux Central won with a time of 16:21.8. Okoboji’s Tyson Fear was 8th at 17:13.5, edging out Emmetsburg’s Ben Cox who took 9th at 17:15.4.
The Class B team scores were paced by Riverside who scored 59 points, taking 2nd was Kuemper Catholic of Carroll with 102, and Okoboji was 3rd with 122. Cherokee was 6th, Alta-Aurelia 10th, South O’Brien 11th, Newell-Fonda 12th, Sioux Central 13th, and Emmetsburg was 15th.
