The Spencer Baseball team hosted Pocahontas Area on Tuesday night in Spencer for another KICD 9-County Area non-conference matchup.
It was Freshman Karson Welander starting for Pocahontas Area while Aiden Techen hit the mound for Spencer.
Both teams scored a run in the first inning then Pocahontas Area added 1 more in the 2nd to take a 2-1 lead. PAC added to that lead in the 3rd, throwing up the games first crooked number to make it 5-1.
Pocahontas Area struck big in the 4th, scoring 4 runs, including a Gabe Ehn 3-run-shot to make it 9-1. Techen would be pulled for Isaac McCormick after the Ehn Home run to try and manage the final 3 and a 3rd innings for the Tigers.
Things looked bleak for Spencer after Welander held the Tigers in check for the bottom of the 4th. Welander exited the game in the 5th, bringing in Hunter Trewyn, and that is when the Spencer bats lit up, scoring 3 runs in the 5th, 5 in the 6th, and 2 in the 7th. Pocahontas Area scored a run in the 6th, as Spencer eventually walked it off in the bottom of the 7th inning to complete the comeback and win 11-10.
The Tigers even up their record at 6-6 on the year with Pocahontas Area taking their second loss and dropping to 6-2. Up next for Pocahontas Area is a home game against Webster City.
The Spencer Baseball hosts Spirit Lake in Lakes Conference action on Thursday night.
