Sioux Center, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Volleyball team traveled to Sioux Center on Thursday Night to face the top seeded Warriors in the Class 4A Region 5 Semifinals.

It was a dominant first set for Sioux Center, getting great serving runs with both Adison Brantsen, who recorded 3 aces during that run, and Kate Vande Hoef. The Warriors cruised to a 25-8 win in the first set.

Sioux Center continued to look strong in set 2, constantly getting into system while creating difficulties for the Tigers to get into system themselves. Maryn Franken notched 5 kills in the set while Amirah Bleeker piled up 4 of her own while also recording a pair of aces. The Warriors took set 2 25-12.

Spencer seemed to find some more momentum in the 3rd set at times, but Sioux Center was still just too much at the net for Spencer to handle. Taylor Holverson, the #4 assist getter in Class 4A, continued to send strong passes the way of her outside hitters, and The Warriors claimed set 3 25-11.

Sioux Center improves to 21-9 on the year and will advance to the Class 4A Region 5 Championship match to face the #2 seed Sergeant Bluff-Luton. The winner will advance to the Class 4A State Tournament in Coralville.

Spencer wraps up the 2026 campaign at 17-26. The Tigers had a Siouxland Division II Record of 2-4 and were 11th in the Siouxland Conference Tournament.
