Algona, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Kossuth County Sheriff’s department has arrested a man who has been eluding law enforcement in Virginia for several years.

They initiated a traffic stop on highway 18 at Sexton last Friday at noon. 34-year-old William Thompson of Jarratt, Virginia was charged with 3rd offense possession of marijuana and operating a vehicle without a valid license.

A background check found him to be wanted on multiple warrants going back several years.
It appears Thompson had used a number of aliases. He was in Iowa doing road construction work.
