Spencer wrapped up District play on Friday night at home against Class 3A Sioux Center.

The Tigers got off to a nice start. The Defense forced back-to-back 3 and outs which the offense capitalized on with a pair of Touchdown Drives to go up 14-0.

Sioux Center got down to business though in the 2nd quarter, going on a 16 play 8 minute and 23 second drive that ended in a Touchdown. After a Spencer Turnover on the first play of the next drive, the Warriors used the short field to score another Touchdown, tying the game at 14.

Spencer bounced back nicely late in the 2nd quarter, ripping down the field in 66 seconds to score a Touchdown right before half, going up 21-14.

The Tigers would get the ball to start the second half, but turned it over, giving Sioux Center another short field which they exchanged for another game tying Touchdown.

Spencer re-took the lead on the next drive to go up 28-21, but then it was all Sioux Center for the remainder of the game.

The Warriors scored 28 unanswered, while Spencer was held to 3 consecutive 3-and-outs. Sioux Center picked up the win to remain unbeaten on the year 49-28.

The Warriors ran for 166 yards on the night as a team, Cody Sandbulte getting 75 yards and a pair of Touchdowns.

Joseph Molina was an offensive force for Sioux Center, rushing for 98 yards and a Touchdown while also catching 3 passes for 42 yards and a Touchdown.

Ezra Hibma tossed 4 Touchdowns on 12/16 for 177 yards at Quarterback for the Warriors.

Spencer’s Kam Young had 20 Carries for 127 yards and 2 Touchdowns on the night.

Dylan Timmer completed 12 of 25 passes for 143 yards and a pair of Interceptions while rushing for 41 yards on 13 carries, scoring his 2nd Touchdown on the year.

Spencer is now 1-3 on the year and prepare for their District opener on the road against Le Mars.

Sioux Center will open up District play at home against #3 in 3A Bishop Heelan of Sioux City next week.
