West Des Moines, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The 2026 IGHSAU State Golf Championships were Thursday and Friday at various locations across the State.

Class 1A was played at Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone.

The Individual State Champion was Jaylee Schaffer of Mount Ayr with +2.  Addie Fier of Easton Valley took 2nd at 11 over Par.  Finishing 3rd, from Highland, was Adisyn Prottsman with a 15 over Par.

Here are where KICD 9-County Area individuals finished.  Alta-Aurelia’s Avery Wetphal would take 28th with +37.  Finishing 49th, from Sibley-Ocheyedan, was Becca Woelber with a 48 over Par.

South O’Brien qualified as a team.  Cassidy Horstmann was 25th with a 34 over Par, followed by her teammate Lindsey Einck in 26th with 35 over Par.  Anna Griebel took 40th at +43, Alli Griebel was 42nd at 46 above Par, Addison Triplett finished 62nd with a 57 over Par, and Addilee Odenbrett took 74th with +94.

In the Team Standings, Easton Valley won the Class 1A State Championship with a total team score of 701, undercutting the score of 703 from State Runner-Up Highland.  South Winneshiek took 3rd with 718.  South O’Brien would take 6th as a team with a total 2-round score of 734.

Class 2A would be played at American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown.

The Individual State Champion was won by Kirsten Nuss of New Hampton with a +3 to Par.  Grace Lewis of Oelwein was the State Runner-Up with a +6 and Alexandria Booten from Notre Dame (Bg)/West Burlington was 3rd with a 10 above Par.

Here are where KICD 9-County Area individuals finished.  Sheldon’s Bella Michels was 7th with 16 over Par and Calista Joyce of Emmetsburg took 13th with a 23 over Par.

In the Team Standings, the State Champion for Class 2A is Roland-Story with a two-round total of 688.  Taking the Runner-Up Title is Grundy Center with 711, and 3rd place was Mid-Prairie with 712.

The Class 3A State Tournament was played at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls.

The Individual State Champion was Ava Lohrbach of Gilbert with a 7 below Par.  The Runner-Up was Wahlert Catholic of Dubuque’s Elin Mueller with a -2 to Par.  The 3rd place finisher was Halle Sobaski of Benton Community with a 3 above Par.

From the KICD 9-County Area, Morgan Irvine of Spencer was 10th with a 13 above Par.

In the Team Standings, the Class 3A State Champion was Wahlert Catholic (Dq) with 622 over two rounds.  The State Runner-Up for the team trophy was Gilbert with 626.  Xavier (CR) took 3rd with 641.

Class 4A played at Waverly Golf Course in Waverly.  Camille Wood of Pleasant Valley is the Individual Champion, winning a playoff against Kylie Wachtl of Prairie (CR) after the two tied at 3 below Par.  Finishing 3rd was West (IC)’s Ainsley Wilson with 1 above Par.

The team State Champion in 4A was Pleasant Valley with 587, taking 2nd was Northwest (Wk) with 627, and Washington (CR) finished 3rd with 661.
