Hartley, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Big Country 107.7 had the broadcast of Harris-Lake Park at Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Tuesday night.

A low scoring first quarter started off the Girls game with Harris-Lake Park up 9-6. The offenses got going in the 2nd quarter, and the Hawks widdled the lead down to 1 going in to the half. It was a big 3rd quarter for the Wolves as they outscored HMS 15-9 and led 42-35 going in to the Final Quarter. Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn would make a comeback attempt, but H-LP held them off to win 50-45.

Gracie Gunderson scored 14 to lead Harris-Lake Park while Kendall Niemeier added 10.

Kylee Schipoff led the Hawks with 15 with Abby Douma scoring 18 in the loss.

HMS is now 8-5 on the year and 3-2 in the War Eagle while the Wolves improve to 10-2 on the season and 6-1 in the War Eagle.

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn jumped out to a 12-3 first quarter lead in the Boys game and grew that lead to 17 after outscoring H-LP 14-6 in the 2nd quarter. The 3rd quarter was more of the same as the Hawks took a 38-15 lead in to the 4th and coasted to a 54-26 win.

Caden Douma had a huge night for Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, scoring 30 points to lead the way.

In the loss, it was Justus Voss leading Harris-Lake Park with 8.

Harris-Lake Park is now 1-10 on the year and 1-7 in the War Eagle Conference while Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn improves to 4-8 and 3-3 in the War Eagle.
