SPIRIT LAKE, IA (northwestiowanow.com) – A Minnesota man has been arrested on multiple charges following an investigation into a March incident.
On Wednesday, officers from the Spirit Lake Police Department apprehended Marcus Tavon Brown, 38, of Worthington, Minnesota, at an apartment complex in Spirit Lake. Brown faces several charges, including burglary, prostitution, false imprisonment, domestic abuse assault, and fifth-degree criminal mischief.
According to criminal complaints filed by the Spirit Lake Police, Brown allegedly used a cash transfer app in an attempt to solicit sexual favors from a woman who did not consent. Authorities say Brown gained unauthorized access to the victim’s apartment using a duplicated key, made without the knowledge or permission of the property owner.
Once inside, a domestic disturbance reportedly occurred. Police allege that Brown refused to leave the premises and physically blocked the victim from exiting by standing in front of the door. During the incident, the door was also damaged.
The investigation remains ongoing.
