A Spencer man has been sentenced prison for 17 years on January 31 after he was convicted by a Jury last August in a federal court in Sioux City. Oscar Navarro-Zepeda, 43 is convicted of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

The state has averaged 13 accidents over the last five years. 2024 tied 2001 with 7 accidents, with each of those two years having the lowest number of aviation accidents during the previous 60 years.
A pasture fire broke out Tuesday morning on the north side of a residence located at 2610 330th Street. The fire, which began near a burn pile, spread quickly but was contained after a coordinated effort between Spencer Fire and Fostoria Fire-Rescue.
