Hollywood is lining up to pay tribute to Academy-award winner Gene Hackman. The city of Storm Lake can boast that Hackman was a resident of the community briefly in the 1940s.

During Estherville City Council Meeting there was discussion about looking into bringing a movie theater back to Estherville.
