Pasture Fire Broke Out Near Spencer

A pasture fire broke out Tuesday morning on the north side of a residence located at 2610 330th Street. The fire, which began near a burn pile, spread quickly but was contained after a coordinated effort between Spencer Fire and Fostoria Fire-Rescue.

Storm Lake Marijuana Charge

Storm Lake police have charged an individual with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. They say they discovered the items when arresting 39-year-old Master Sarapio on an outstanding warrant. The officer saw him walking along West Milwaukee Avenue and recognized him as a wanted individual.

Accident Causes Field Fire

The Iowa State Patrol says a Chicago man driving a freight truck through Plymouth County died when he struck a vehicle hauling grain. The accident report says 28-year-old Mohammed Wajid was Northbound on county road K-18, drove through a stop sign and struck the Eastbound vehicle driven by 49-year-old Timothy Welken of Akron.
