The walleye fishing season on Spirit, East and West Okoboji lakes is open through Feb. 14th. It will close after that date and reopens on May 3rd. These are the only Iowa lakes that have a closed season for walleye.

Iowans are warned our sidewalks and roads may be dangerously icy this afternoon and tonight as a winter storm front moves across the state, bringing the potential for freezing rain.

The Department of Natural Resources is hosting a few local Hunter Listening Sessions to recap the hunting season and meet with local DNR Staff. Dusten Paulus is the Wildlife Biologist with the Iowa DNR.

According to the Milford Police Department Facebook page the department took a call today (Tues) from a local business and the caller reported to be from Milford Municipal Utilities (MMU), the caller claimed that they were going to be disconnecting utilities if payment was not made.
