Day 3 Charleston, South Carolina
7am Depart hotel
8am Stop: Prince William Parish Church ruins: Known also as the Sheldon Church or Old Sheldon Church, the building was originally known as Prince William’s Parish Church. The original church was built between 1745 and 1753. The church was burned by the British in 1779 during the Revolutionary War, rebuilt in 1826, and then burned again in 1865 during the Civil War by the Federal Army under General William T Sherman.
10am Stop: Magnolia Plantation is a historic house with gardens located in South Carolina. It is one of the oldest plantations in the South and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house was reconstructed and restored, based on what was built after the Civil War.
2:30pm Stop: Fort Sumter is a sea fort originally built to protect Charleston, South Carolina.  Its origin dates to the War of 1812 when the British invaded Washington by sea. It was still incomplete in 1861 when the Battle of Fort Sumter began the American Civil War. It was severely damaged during the war, left in ruins.

In addition to the house, the 8,000-acre estate is home to forested trails and beautiful gardens, which include one of the country’s most complete collections of azaleas. Biltmore is also where you’ll find the nation’s most-visited winery. As you explore the estate, enjoy shopping, dining and luxury accommodations.
Hotel: Hampton Inn in Brevard, NC

Day 6 State Park Day
Stop: Pretty Little Place Chapel – This is one of the most perfect places for an outdoor chapel, as it overlooks a deep canyon in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. You can miss this view!
Stop: Caesars State Park: A favorite spot at the Caesars Head end of the Mountain Bridge is Devil’s Kitchen, which is the rock passage at the main overlook. If you’re a first-time visitor, you should definitely see the main overlook. The cloud cover, the birds you see or even the humidity that day all play a role in what you might see!
Stop: Stumphouse tunnel: The Tunnel in Oconee County, South Carolina is an incomplete railroad tunnel for the Blue Ridge Railroad of South Carolina in Sumter National Forest… and very spooky.
The tunnel was built to connect the railway between Charleston and Knoxville. The men who built the tunnel worked twelve hours a day, seven days a week, using only shovels, pick axes and dynamite. Eventually, Stumphouse Tunnel was closed due to lack of money, and then the Civil War started.
Stop: Issaqueena Falls: is a 100 ft high cascade waterfall in the Sumter National Forest. The falls are named for a legendary Cherokee girl who is said to have leaped from the top of the falls with her lover. In the story, Issaqueena and her lover either die together or they land on a ledge out of sight of hostile tribesmen and eventually live happily ever after.
Stop: Toccoa Falls is a waterfall with a vertical drop of 186 feet on the campus of Toccoa Falls College in Stephens County, Georgia.
During the early morning hours of November 6, 1977, after five days of almost continual rain, a dam located above the Toccoa Falls College campus burst, and 176 million gallons of water surged through the campus below in the space of a few minutes. Most of the college personnel who lived in the path of the flood were asleep at the time, and 39 of them were swept to their deaths in the raging waters of Toccoa Creek.
Hotel: Helen, GA

Day 7 Helen, GA
Stop: Helen (The cutest small town in the south): Formerly a logging town that was in decline, the city resurrected itself by becoming a replica of a Bavarian alpine town, in the Appalachians instead of the Alps. This design is mandated through zoning first adopted in 1969, so that the classic southern German style is present on every building.
Stop: Vogel State Park:  The park features streams, a waterfall, and Lake Trahlyta. At 2,500 feet elevation it is one of Georgia’s highest altitude state parks. The mountainous habitats surrounding the lake support a wide assortment of plants and animals.  Within the park are a series of hiking trails.
Hotel in Atlanta

Day 8 Travel home – Atlanta, GA
