Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Girls and Boys Basketball teams welcomed Estherville Lincoln Central to town for a Lakes Conference contest.
In the Girls contest, Estherville Lincoln Central rolled to a 71-29 win.
Rylee Yager and Haylee Stokes each scored 25 for Estherville Lincoln Central while Hillary Ruschy scored 20, as they posted their 3rd highest scoring total of the year.
Sydnee Hopkins was 9-9 at the free throw line for Spencer and led the Tigers with 12.
Estherville Lincoln Central is now 12-2 on the year and 3-0 in the Lakes Conference.
Spencer drops to 4-8 for the season and 0-2 in the Lakes.
The Spencer Boys Basketball team outscored Estherville Lincoln Central handily in all 4 quarters to win 68-34.
The Tigers had 4 players in double-digits with Cael Bruning at 18, Brady Vreeman with 13, Cole Cantrall 11, and Foster Roos with 10. The Tigers also received 23 points off the bench in the win.
Estherville Lincoln Central was led by Kaden Fechter’s 8.
ELC is now 2-10 on the year and 0-3 in the Lakes while Spencer stops a 3-game skid to improve to 7-4 and 1-1 in the Lakes.
Next up for Estherville Lincoln Central is a home game against Spirit Lake.
The Tigers are back home on Friday against Storm Lake.
